North Carolina is back in Cary and N.C. State is off to Athens, Ga., when the NCAA baseball Super Regionals are held later this week.

Carolina, the No. 2 national seed, plays Coastal Carolina in a best-of-three Super Regional beginning Saturday at the USA Baseball National Training Complex. The Tar Heels (49-12) and Chanticleers (50-12) will play Saturday at noon (ESPNU) and Sunday at 1 p.m. on ESPN. If necessary, a third game will be Monday at 12:30 p.m. or 7 p.m., depending on television. That game would be on ESPN or ESPN2.

The Tar Heels are 34-13 all-time in the series between the schools and lost to Coastal Carolina 11-4 in Cary on March 11. The winner of the Super Regional advances to the College World Series, which opens June 14 at Omaha's Rosenblatt Stadium. The Tar Heels are in search of their third straight trip to Omaha and the seventh CWS appearance in school history.

State, 41-20, will travel to Athens, where the Georgia Bulldogs won their regional with an 18-6 victory over Georgia Tech on Monday night. State and Georgia play Friday at noon at Foley Field, Georgia’s 3,291-seat baseball stadium. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.

The teams meet again Saturday at noon in a game that will be televised on ESPN2. Game Three, if needed, will be Sunday at 4 p.m.

The Wolfpack is trying to reach the College World Series for the first time since 1968.
