The Carolina Mudcats spotted the Chattanooga Lookouts a six run lead before the Mudcats roared back for a 9-7 victory on Monday night at Five County Stadium.

The Mudcats (22-16) scored eight runs in two innings against the Lookouts' (19-19) bullpen to storm to a two games to one series lead. Trailing 6-1 in the seventh, Kris Harvey began the rally with his first Double-A homer , then one out later the Mudcats strung three straight hits together from John Raynor, Cameron Maybin and Chris Coghlan to make it a 6-3 game. Gaby Sanchez followed with a drive to the left field warning track, but Cody Straight made a jumping catch, but the flyball plated Maybin to trim the game to 6-4. After a pitching change and two walks to load the bases, Alberto Concepcion hit a hard chopper off of Tonys Gutierrez's glove at first base for a two-run single to tie the score.

The Lookouts regained the lead 7-6 with a run in the eighth against Matt Yourkin (W, 1-2), but Carolina scored three times in the bottom half thanks to a two-run triple to center by Coghlan.

Chris Mobley (S, 2), who blew a save on Sunday, retired the side in order in the ninth for his second save.

Aaron Thompson pitched five innings, allowing 10 hits and six runs in the start for the Mudcats, while Lookouts starter Daryl Thompson worked six innings, permitting four hits and one unearned run.

Coghlan reached base all five times, including going 3-3 with two walks, a steal and three RBI. Raynor was 2-4 with a walk and three runs scored.

The series continues Tuesday night with Brett Sinkbeil (1-4, 5.72) matched against Chattanooga's James Avery (0-2, 5.77) at 7:15 PM ET.
