Every afternoon at Ravenscroft high school, Logan Aldridge, like all other lacrosse players, gets ready for practice.
But Logan is not like every other player.
At the age of 13, Logan lost his left arm in a boating accident, but the injury hasn't slowed him down at all.
"It started on the way to the hospital," Aldridge recalls. "I said, 'Mom, what if I lose my arm?' And she said it's only an arm, it's not a life. There's always a positive."
Staying positive has yielded positive results for Aldridge. Not only is Aldridge still playing lacrosse, he's a team captain – as a junior.
"It's amazing to see how he's adapted his game because of the loss of his limb," head lacrosse coach Sandy Kapatos admits. "But to be honest with you, he's just like one of the guys."
However, the story doesn't end on the lacrosse field.
Aldridge is also a competitive snowboarder and wakeboarder.
"It never crossed my mind that I'm never gonna wakeboard, Aldridge says. "[Maybe it's] gonna be a little bit harder now, but of couse I'm gonna continue."
Aldridge is working on a book deal with MTV about his story, and the teenager even has his own motivational speaking business.
"Speaking is a huge reward in itself," says Aldridge. "I love sharing my message with people and touching them with the message that you can overcome anything."
His company's name is "Beyond Expectations" – a fitting name for a tremendous student-athlete whose accomplishments have been just that.
