Pawtucket Breaks Out, Beats Bulls 12-7

Durham Bulls

With the Durham rotation hit by injury, Kevin Lynn did a solid job in a spot start, but Pawtucket pulled away against the Durham bullpen, and beat the Bulls 12-7 on Wednesday night.

Lynn, who was making just his second Triple-A start, allowed three runs in the first, two with two out. He then battled back to retire six straight before the Pawsox hit back-to-back two-out homers in the third to make it 5-1. Lynn then retired his last seven hitters, and left trailing 5-2.

Pawtucket took advantage of two walks and two errors to score seven runs in the seventh, five of them unearned. Durham scored five runs in the ninth to cap the scoring.

Offensively, Durham collected 10 hits, including two by Dan Johnson, who drove home three runs.

The Bulls (14-18) have a chance to take three of four from Pawtucket (18-16) on Thursday and finish an eight-game road trip on a high note. LHP Mike Prochaska will make a spot start against RHP David Pauley. Coverage on Rejoice 1410 AM WRJD begins at noon, with first pitch at 12:05. The game also can be heard on www.durhambulls.com, www.milb.com and www.1410wrjd.com.
