Also receiving five or more votes were Toney Douglas, Florida State (17); James Gist, Maryland (11); Marcus Ginyard, North Carolina (9); and Tyrelle Blair, Boston College (6).

Duke's Kyle Singler was the rookie of the year with 44 votes. Also receiving five votes were James Johnson of Wake Forest (30) and J.J. Hickson, N.C. State (11).

Seth Greenberg of Virginia Tech was named coach of the year, receiving 25 votes. Also getting votes were Frank Haith, Miami (23); Roy Williams, North Carolina (17); Oliver Purnell, Clemson (15); Mike Krzyzewski, Duke (8); and Dino Gaudio, Wake Forest (2).

UNC coach Roy Williams, in a statement in Hansbrough, said, "Tyler has been fantastic all year on both ends of the floor, yet he really elevated his game over the second half of the ACC schedule.

"A number of our players stepped forward in Ty Lawson¹s absence, but Tyler had the ability to dominate key stretches of games and that gave our players a level of confidence that pushed us toward the regular-season ACC title."
