Browns Summit, N.C. — Ravenscroft won its second straight NCISAA 3-A Championship Tuesday at Bryan Park and Golf Club in Browns Summit.
The Ravens shot a two-day total of 608 to win by five strokes over Forsyth Country Day. In windy first-round conditions, Ravenscroft shot a team total of 309. The team rebounded with a team total of 299 in Tuesday's final round.
Ravenscroft sophomore Zak Dearinger won the individual title with a two-day total of 148, edging out freshman teammate Reeves Zaytoun by a stroke.
"We are thrilled to win the title for the second-straight year," coach Jimmy Cox said. "Forsyth Country Day made a good run early today and at one point, cut the lead to one stroke. But then Zak came out for us and posted a 72 to help us pull away."
The title is the Ravens' third in four years.
“We’re young," Cox said. "We’ve got everybody back. Probably the best news other than winning the trophy is nobody has to order a cap and gown.”
