Football 2008: Wake Forest-Rolesville
The Wake Forest-Rolesville Cougars were among the cream of the crop in the Triangle in 2007, and with several key players and starters returning in 2008, they will be a favorite to contend for the conference championship yet again. Last season, Coach Earl Smith and company knocked off the Leesville Road Pride in the final game of the regular season to earn the conference title, but the two met again in the Second Round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association State Playoffs. The Cougars went in undefeated, the Pride with a solitary loss to the Cougars. Leesville Road upset Wake Forest-Rolesville that night, ending their 2007 season early.
