Kobe Bryant resurrecting career

On the basketball court, few can match the talent and ability of Kobe Bryant. Off the court, almost no one in the world has risen from villain to saint this side of professional wrestling as fast as Kobe Bryant. Just a few days ago, Bryant was the catalyst on Team USA’s victory over Spain in the Gold Medal game in Beijing.

Five years ago, Bryant was in the middle of the biggest public relations nightmare that any active athlete of his popularity could ever be involved. He was accused of raping a 19 year-old hotel worker while rehabbing his knee in Colorado. Although he didn’t deny his poor ethical judgment, he professed his innocence from a criminal stand point. He had his supporters, but the sea of hatred began.

But why?

Was it because he achieved success too early in his career? Or was he just another spoiled celebrity who thinks he’s above the law?

Who knows?

People just didn’t like Kobe Bryant. I’ll be the first one to tell you I didn’t particularly care for him. But I will also say I don’t think anything criminal happened in Colorado that night.

A year later, the case is dropped due to the accuser’s lack of cooperation which is open to interpretation .

From that point on the resurrection of Bryant’s image began.

In the last year, Bryant won the NBA MVP, lead the LA Lakers to the NBA Finals and capped it all off leading Team USA to the Gold Medal. USA Head Coach Mike Krzyzewski said that Kobe Bryant could have ran for office in China he was so popular.

Most people can never escape accusations whether true or not, but somehow Kobe Bryant has made everyone forget. I’ll be the first one to tell you now, I have no problem with Kobe Bryant.
