Blog: Heels Have Pig Roast

7:47 p.m., UNC 108 Arkansas 77:  Just a simple statement of domination. 11 players score, dominant defense, excellent execution on offense and playing like the best team in the nation. This is one of those weekends that Carolina might never want to see end. Clearly the best team in the country wears Carolina Blue, but next week is a new challenge and waiting in Charlotte will be a good Washington State team and then Louisville or Tennessee, proving again why this tournament is fantastic. I said a few months ago that UNC is the most complete team in NCAA, after this weekend they might have proved me right, but the heat and fun will be turned up next weekend, can't wait for Thursday. Positives for the Heels, Ty Lawson is back, Wayne Ellington is in a zone, Tyler Hansbrough is the player of the year, Quentin Thomas provides solid point play in relief of Lawson and this Heels team is deep. Negatives? I can't find any. Thanks to everyone who posted responses!

7:36 p.m., Surry Wood!!!

7:35 p.m., Maybe CBS want to turn off the sideline mic...just saying

7:24  UNC up 92-59 with 6:51 to play: No concerns of Hansbrough not dominating a concern that the logo will end his season that's about it. Heels are 66 percent from the floor.  I like what Roy just did with the logo that sticker is stupid, no need for it, we know exactly what tournament it is just leave the regular paint on the floor. Love UNC or Hate them respect the talent and hustle of the team. On the Foul, Hansbrough did get arm before ball, I'm just saying.

7:22 p.m., The NCAA Logo at mid-court

7:18 p.m., From what I have seen this weekend, the Heels are the strongest team in the field, followed by Louisville, Michigan State and UCLA even though the Bruins struggled. Just based on how they have played over the first two rounds of the tournament.

7:12 p.m., UNC up 74 to 51 11:21 left in game: Heels still doing everything right, the defensive effort is still high, nothing coming really easy for Arkansas offensively and Carolina imposing their will at every turn. If Wayne Ellington can play like this the rest of the tourney, Roy will tie Dean Smith in titles...just a solid effort all around for UNC.

7:10 p.m., It's a foul because the Heels are up 23.

7:06 p.m., 68-47 UNC up 13:01 left in game: Arkansas is keeping it from being an embarrassment but just too much Carolina

6:56 p.m., 59-38 UNC up at under 16 timeout:  I did quick math if the Heels just let the shot clock expire they will still win the game at least I think they could. It's more fun to try to figure out the athletes in the in the Nike commercial than watching this game without a cheering interest. Alex Stepheson contributing on the offensive side, four players in double figures. Did Billy Packer just say that not trying to block shots is smart for Tyler Hansbrough? If anyone was wondering Ty Lawson is back and I am sorry it took so long to say this Happy Easter!!

6:51 p.m., Game Over.  Lawsons Ooop to Hansbrough just told the Razorbacks that we didn't stop playing you did. The Heels might want to work on their sets, maybe this is coming so easy for the heels because they are playing a team that is wearing red and white on and ACC floor? Too soon to say that?

6:44 p.m.,  Not meant to rain on this effort by the Tar Heels, but rather anticipating a great game. UNC is going to advance to the next round. Just pay attention to the Louisville Cardinals, I am hoping that match-up happens because it could be one of those legendary NCAA Elite Eight games.

6:34 still p.m., UNC up 51 to 26 at the Half.  Can we have a running clock for the second half, this could get to fifty points for the Heels. This is like an old Mike Tyson fight, the Razorbacks just wanted to withstand the first 3 minutes, and they couldn't they have been dazed ever since. If Ty Lawson and Quentin Thomas can give this guard play the Heels should just make reservations for San Antonio. This is a clutch time for Roy Williams to send a message to his team to continue to play disciplined and within the system, if this is any indication Carolina is peaking at the right time.

6:30 p.m., I think Billy Packer said that Arkansas was working back into the game? they're down 25. Two words Surry Wood.

6:23 p.m., UNC up huge with 3:50 left in half. I'm already tired of Tigers Gatorade commercial, that's not his fault. I don't own a Porsche so have no idea what it's like to drive one. I do know this the Tar Heels have sent a message to the rest of the field. Don't mess with them.

6:18 p.m., UNC up 40 to 18 5:42 left in 1st.  A game like this it is easy to get lazy on defense and sloppy on offense. I don't think Roy Williams will let that happen.

6:12 p.m.,  Two things. One Dan Mason is a liar. Two the game is in High Def. But if you can correctly predict the final score for both teams before the half I'll get you a t-shirt and I'll throw in something else that is cool. Maybe a gift certificate, but it has to be both teams before the end of the first half. and this isn't the Price is Right you have to get it exactly right. And to the person who said the Razorbacks are going to score 79...are the Tar Heels going to only play three players the rest of the game?

6:10 p.m., UNC up  37-15 under 8 minutes: It's the defensive effort that will be overshadowed by the Heels offensive efficiency. Also UNC fans don't go Red Sox fan and bring up Duke or your rival, they are eliminated, just bask int he glow of how well the Heels are playing which is better than anyone in the field by miles. The only thing that I don't like is that officials will put the whistle away or call things that aren't there to even this up a bit. I hope not...

6:03 p.m., Wayne Ellington is going to score 20 and then again so is every other player on the roster. Up 22 points already. I would ask that Arkansas coach John Pelphry suit up. It can't hurt.

6:02 p.m., UNC leads 26-11 11:26 LEFT IN 1ST HALF.  No Tar Heel turnovers yet, that is almost as silly as the logo at center court. And Jim Nantz and Billy Packer have only made 19 references to Davidson so far today.

5:57 p.m., Q Thomas with a nice steal and finish...have fun with this today UNC fans, it is going to get a little harder in Charlotte. Any suggestions you have to make this game more enjoyable feel free to post! and thanks for reading this. Heels are showing today they are the best team in the tournament.

5:53 p.m., UNC up 18 to 4 with Hansbrough at the line--wow he missed it. Arkansas needs to find a way to get control of the tempo, at this rate Carolina will win by 30. Only Heels problem is early fouls.

5:50 p.m., UNC 13 ARK 4 15:48 left in 1st: If the Heels lose this game Made in USA Blogs every Wolfpack game next year and pays us $20 to do it.

For CBS read the blog, had that up for a while...they have to have 20 minutes in between games...although the Memphis game is probably going to be a better game. This one might be over at the half

5:43 p.m., UNC 9 Arkansas 0-All these great games and this is the one to blog about? Heels are using a vulgar display of talent. Arkansas just doesn't match-up well with the Tar Heels. Also has anyone else notices that the NCAA logo is actually bigger than the court? Did they borrow that from the MTV "Rock and Jock" games?

5:39 p.m., Opening tap. A word of caution to the Tar Heels come out strong and leave no doubt who is the better team. Look at how Georgetown, Texas and Tennessee and to this point Memphis have all struggled. A pro Heels crowd should help and the Heels win the opening tap. Hansbrough doubled right away and small shock no foul called on his part. it took a minute and seven seconds but Heels score first on a Lawson three, he looks to be all the way back. If Ty Lawson is doing that already Arkansas is in trouble.

5:25 p.m., CBS says 5:39 tip for Heels and Razorbacks talk to you then.

5:22 p.m., Look at all that blue...oh wait it's the Memphis game...

5:14 p.m., Game hasn't started yet due to Davidsons upset of Georgetown.

4:34 p.m., The Heels will not have far to go, a return trip to Charlotte is about 3 hours away. Although Washington State has looked outstanding in the tournament so far.

Ham is a traditional dinner on Easter Sunday, I have the feeling the North Carolina Tar Heels will have a feast against Arkansas. The SEC was not a great conference this season and somehow had six entries into the NCAA tournament; on the other hand the Tar Heels will soon be the only ACC representative left dancing. This isn't about conference strength today, it's about a one seed playing a nine and how strong the Tar Heels are right now. UNC is the most complete team in the tournament in terms of coaching rotation and star power. If Wayne Ellington can shoot like he did on Friday this game will be a walk to Charlotte for UNC. Arkansas has no answer for Tyler Hansbrough and will have to play perfect with another career game from Sonny Weems to have a chance.
