9:19 p.m., Duke 82 Georgia Tech 70 FINAL -Duke looked as good as they had at any point in the season and they also looked like the team that lost two in a row on the road for the midway stretch of the second half. I am impressed more and more with Jon Scheyer who is just a really good college basketball player and DeMarcus Nelson does everything at a high level. If the Blue Devils can shoot 47% from beyond the arc they will be going far. Georgia Tech showed a lot in two days at the ACC tournament, maybe the pace of last night's game with UVA caught up with them, but a cold first half and fresh Duke team see the Jackets go home. Duke now awaits the winner of Boston College and Clemson. We had a good atmosphere here for twenty minutes or so. Tomorrow should be a great atmosphere. If Clemson gets by it is the first time since 2002 in charlotte ironically enough that the top four seeds advance. Night and thanks for reading. Scott Jackson has the next blog, and remember 99.9 the Fan has a special ACC round table tomorrow starting at 10 a.m.
9:09 p.m., Duke has rallied. Another comfortable lead for the Blue Devils although the score will not indicate how hard Duke had to fight. Very impressed with how the Yellow Jackets showed character but in the end too much shooting from the outside and hustle by the Blue Devils. If it is Clemson should be a great match-up. Thanks to Tizu for helping with the scores, make sure you get your WRAL TV 5 Sports T-Shirt! 1:34 left Duke 78 GT 67
8:49 p.m., Duke 66 GT 56-7:02 left in game-Duke has built the lead back to ten (Breathe Tizu), yet it doesn't appear it will be an easy finish Duke really balanced on offense five players already in double digits. Right about now the Blue Devils will milk the shot clock and Tech will let us know if there is one more run left to make it interesting.
8:35 p.m., Duke 56 GT 50-13:17 left in the game-Crowd is back into it a great atmosphere at the Bobcat Arena as Duke fans are fired up and the rest of the ACC wants to see the upset. It took a while but this game has drastically changed. Only question do the Jackets have enough in the tank to keep pace?
8:28 p.m.,-Duke 52 GT 46-14:29 left in the game-Poster Tizu wasn't worried and helping out with the blog at the bottom of the page much appreciated! But time to worry Jackets have a second wind and are faster than Duke at the moment. What looked like a walk has turned into a game. Great job by Paul Hewitt to find the rotation that works and harasses Duke. Coach K sending in another new wave of five players to try to take back momentum. Tizu start worrying.
8:25 p.m.,-Duke 52 GT 44 16:32 left in game- Jackets use an 11-2 run to spice up the bash. GT pressing defense and Duke has gone cold. Coach K has called a time out and is replacing all five starters in one move to shake things up. Maurice Miller and Anthony Morrow are sparkingthe comeback, but is it too late?
8:18 p.m.,-Duke opens up second half with the ball and DeMarcus Nelson making an unbelievable catch on an errant Kyle Singler pass, yes he converts the lay-up. Duke looking to end this game right now as Gerald Henderson with a moster slam on a back door play. 50-33 Blue Devils with 18:29 left.
8:00 p.m.EST, Duke 44, Ga Tech 29 Halftime-The first half closes with Duke guard Greg Paulus firing up an air ball which is about the only bad offensive set in 19 minutes after the Singler charge. Devils are shooting 67% from three, 57% from the floor. Georgia Tech needs to pressure the outside and force Duke to try to score inside. Yellow Jackets look worn-out from game against UVa last night. Halftime speeches really simple for both teams. Duke: keep up the defensive effort and excellent movement of the basketball. Georgia Tech: you have 20 minutes with nothing to lose, oh and play defense that could help.
7:49 p.m., Duke 36 GT 24-4:27 left in first half- DeMarcus Nelson just sent Alade Aminu's weak shot out of the lane. The Blue Devils' defensive effort has been spectacular - 4 blocks 2 steals and forcing 8 turnovers. Duke already has 9 team fouls but a comfy lead. GT's Matt Causey has gone to the bench, Jackets have matched up better defensively.
7:41p.m., Duke 33 GT 16-You know it is Duke's night as David McClure is perfect from the floor, Gerald Henderson is a beast on defense and the Blue Devils are shooting 60% from the three-point line. The Yellow Jackets are getting one shot and that is it offensively. It might be time for Bobby Cremins to warm up the bus. Paul Hewitt needs to find a way to get his team to stop running for it.
7:36 p.m., Duke 26 GT 16 - Duke really pushing the pace of play and defensive pressure is rattling Georgia Tech. Jon Scheyer the sixth man continues to shine he has 8 points with 11 minutes to go.
Matt Causey has just transfered to Duke-not really but the possibility does exist.10:30 minutes left Duke 24 GT 14
7:26 p.m., Duke 20 GT 10-Blue Devils using grit and smart play on defense to clog the lane offensively the three's are falling and that could spell trouble for Tech. Matt Causey's hair got in the way of his first shot, but the more interesting stat Duke has five fouls before the 10-minute mark and Coach K hasn't pretended to throw his coat like other coaches have already done in the tournament. That's a fact, not a made up term by someone who isn't watching the game.
7:21 p.m., Matt Causey Needs a Haircut-I think his mane is slowing him down. The merm is never attractive.
7:15 p.m., Duke 9 GT 7-16:14 left in 1st half- Duke already has 17 offensive rebounds or 3 on one possession to help break on top of the Jackets. Georgia Tech needs to use their athleticism and get this game out in the open floor. Coach K has already subbed in five new players. Grab your scorecard going to be a lot of Devils in action tonight.
7:09 p.m., Opening Tap won by Georgia Tech-Smart foul by Kyle Singler 40 feet away from basket but Jackets travel to give it back and then Singler charges on the Devils first offensive possession...a clean start to this on and a seat on the bench for Singler with 2 fouls in 31 seconds.
6:55 p.m., Starting Line-Ups-For the Devils in White and Blue, at guard Greg Paulus, at guard DeMarcus Nelson, at forward Kyle Singler, at forward Gerald Henderson and at the final forward spot Lance Thomas.
For the Yellow Jackets in Gold and Dark Blue, at guard D'Andre Bell, at guard Anthony Morrow, at forward Jeremis Smith, at forward Gani Lawal and finally up front Maurice Miller.
Side note: each team was booed upon entering the court. Welcome to the night session.
6:37 p.m., Pre-game-Duke vs Georgia Tech-The Blue Devils have had to wait almost a whole week to get back on the floor to try erase the memory of a loss to North Carolina. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets handled Virginia last night in the opening round will look to have the balanced scoring and defend Duke on the perimeter. It's always fascinating to see how many Tar Heel fans show up just to cheer against Duke it should be a rather pro-Georgia Tech crowd seeing the entire building except for Duke fans will be cheering for the Jackets. Kids wearing Duke stuff have been booed all week long on the JumboTron, my guess it won't change for the guys on the court.

Good, Hard Fought game Yellow Jackets. Made it very interesting there for about 10 minutes. On to watch the next game of Clemson and Boston College. Should also be a good game to watch but I'm taking Clemson to take on Duke tomorrow.
