We all do it. We're fans at a basketball game, the referee calls a foul on our team, and we boo them, we yell at them, and we get all angry.
"Take his whistle... Take his whistle."
It's a common cheer heard in high school basketball, but do the fans really know what they're talking about. To be honest, probably not. I'll be honest myself, I don't know all of the rules.
I thought it would be interesting to put together a 10-question quiz from the official NFHS rulebook. If it's popular, maybe we'll put up a second quiz.
The quiz is based on cases taken directly from the case book ordered from the NFHS website. The quiz is all multiple choice, and where necessary it gives explanations.
If you can get a perfect score on this one, you can consider yourself basketball smart.
Just remember, next time you give an official a hard time, he has to take a test to put on those stripes.
