Nick Stevens: Here's My Plan

I hope everybody enjoyed their "snow day," if you can call that a snow day.

I've continued to receive feedback about the new comment policy WRAL.com has implemented and its impacts on our prep sports coverage.

This new policy is inconvenient for those of us who follow and enjoy discussing prep sports, but it is something we're going to have to live with. High school events are often held at night (and you can't comment after 7 p.m.), and on Friday's (meaning you can't comment on those stories/blogs until Monday morning at 7:00).

Here's what I have gathered from your feedback:

Our prep sports coverage is also aimed towards those who participate in prep sports - high school students. These students are often in school by 7 a.m., and after school they have practices, games, homework, extra curricular activities, and other things. Many times, students can't sit down at a computer until night time, meaning they can't provide their comments to our stories.

I share many of your concerns, so I think I have come up with a temporary solution.

WRAL.com is keeping GOLO open 24/7, meaning anyone can comment on it at any time of the day without the hassle of having a moderator approve it.

Now, it gets confusing and scattered when fifteen different people copy and paste the same blog or story into GOLO, and it limits the great discussion significantly, so I am going to copy and paste every blog and story associated with prep sports into my GOLO blog. This way, people can post whatever they want, whenever they want about prep sports. I will be moderating it on my own, just as I did before we underwent this comments change, but your comments will post immediately. I will moderate after the fact.

On each blog/story you will see a link that says, "Click Here To Comment On GOLO." You can also access my GOLO blog by clicking the link under the "Features" header of the prep sports section.

For more information about the comments changes visit our GOLO section. Angela Connor, WRAL.com Managing Editor of GOLO, and John Clark, WRAL.com General Manager, have posted blogs with details and explanations, as well as requests for your feedback.

Keep coming back to WRAL.com for the best prep sports coverage!
