We’ve all heard of some strange sex scandals involving teachers and coaches, but this one caught my eye. I’m going to try and write about this in a mature, G-rated way, but it is about a sex scandal so it may not be appropriate for all ages.
I subscribe to an online newsletter called “Bad Jocks,” a web site that focuses on athletes and coaches breaking the law. You can visit the web site at badjocks.com if you’d like to see what else they have to offer. This afternoon I received an email from them about an Indiana Assistant Girl’s Basketball Coach from Andrean High School. This coach, Matthew Hensley (24), was charged in federal court with using an Internet chatroom to entice a 13-year-old girl for sex. Just for any other stupid criminals out there, it’s not hard for cops to pretend to be 13-year-old girls, and that is exactly what happened in this case.
The prosecution has a piece of evidence that they want to present before the jury, but Hensley and his attorney are fighting it. What is it? It is a large picture of one of his former players found in his apartment. So, that’s creepy, but why is that evidence? Well, let’s just say it was covered in bodily fluid. The defense attorneys are saying that it is irrelevant because the girl in the photograph is older than 13. I’m no legal expert, but I’m guessing if she isn’t of legal age, it could still be used. Just my opinion.
As you can imagine, Hensley is no longer working as an assistant coach at the high school. I recommend you visit Bad Jocks, it’s a very entertaining web site.
