On Sunday April 1st, MVP Baseball is coming to Knightdale High School to host a tryout for local high school baseball players. The event is used to compare high school baseball players to one another to determine the best players in the country. The players could be eligible to play on the USA National Travel Team and/or play in the highest scouted tournaments in the country.
The event is free and is open to the public.
The event begins at 10 A.M. with an educational presentation on college recruitment. MVP officials will be on hand to answer questions about pro and college recruiting. Following the presentation, players will participate in a pro-style training session to determine their skill level, athleticism, and future baseball potential. MVP coaches will be on hand to help with the training as well as provide tips to baseball players throughout the day.
The participants will be evaluated against their peers by professional coaches such as Jeff Holly and Gary Ridge. Holly is a former MLB player, and Ridge is a five-time national championship coach.
After the try-out session, participating players will have the opportunity to view their individual evaluations and tool ratings on the MVP Baseball Web site. Players' try-out statistics are categorized and ranked by grade and position, to show a true player rating. According to the press release from MVP Baseball, these statistics are regularly accessed by college coaches and professional scouts as a beneficial recruitment tool.
To register for the event, visit the MVP Baseball Web site. Space is limited. Participants should be at Knightdale High School by 9:30 A.M. on April 1st and a parent must be present.
