Johnny Dutch, a senior track and field runner at Clayton High School, was featured as last week's Sports Illustrated's "Faces in the Crowd" athlete.
SI has launched a new web site, Takkle.com, which serves as a nomination station for their new high school athlete spotlight. On Takkle, Dutch was nominated for the honor, and he was chosen to be featured by SI.
Dutch won the 55-meter hurdles event in the 2007 NCHSAA 4A State Indoor Track Championship. Not only did he win it, Dutch set a meet record time of 7.11 seconds. He is use to setting record, though. In January, Dutch set a new national record at 7.07 seconds.
If you would like to see a video of Dutch's achievements, follow the link to the right side of this blog post, where you will also find a link to Takkle.com. Congratulations to Johny Dutch for his excellence in track and field.
