Conference Wachovia Cup Standings

You’re probably aware of the Wachovia Cup, the award given annually to the high school with the most successful athletics program in the state. You may not know that there is also a Wachovia Conference Cup, formally known as the Wachovia Trophy.

According to the NCHSAA, the Wachovia Trophy is a companion of the Wachovia Cup. Wachovia sponsors the award each year, and the NCHSAA has sanctioned it. The Conference Cup recognizes high school sports programs that achieve the best overall performance within their conference.

WRAL has obtained the current Wachovia Cup Standings, as of January 3, 2007. Below are the conference standings for each of the major conferences in our area.

The Broughton Capitals managed to win conference titles in men’s cross country, volleyball, men’s soccer, and women’s tennis.
