Ken Medlin: Carolina Women Out-Quick Duke -- Again
One month after the Carolina Women out-quicked Duke to become the nation's No. 1 team, they do it again -- this time in Chapel Hill for a 77-65 win.
Even Duke coach Gail Goestenkors admitted the Tar Heels seemingly scored at will when they ran against the Devils.
Earlier this year against Tennessee, Duke used a quickness advantage to blow the Lady Vols off the court. But Carolina may be the one team nationally that can out-run even the Blue Devils, and the outcomes of their games have reflected that.
Now, UNC heads into the Women's ACC Tournament as the No. 1 seed, and a No. 1 ranking nationally is practically a lock for the Heels. But the time to celebrate is fleeting -- another Duke-UNC matchup could come as soon as Sunday.
