N.C. State's 34-24 victory over William and Mary on Saturday saw good play from someone at the quarterback position, but that someone was not the starter heading into the game.

Harrison Beck replaced the struggling Daniel Evans, who only completed four passes for 12 yards and an interception in less than a half of football.  Wolfpack fans at Carter-Finley Stadium were quick to let Evans know how they felt about his performance with boos.

Coach Tom O'Brien talked about how annoyed he was with the fan's reactions to Evans play on his weekly radio show.

"It's pretty frustrating to listen to people boo thinking it's going to make somebody better," O'Brien said Tuesday  "By booing somebody, you don't make them better."

O'Brien went on to talk about how the boos could be a turnoff to potential recruits who attend games.

"I think it was a bad situation, and hopefully we'll be smarter than that in the future," O'Brien said.

O'Brien's show runs exclusively in the Triangle on 99.9 FM The Fan.
