The N.C. State football team took the field together for the first time since the Red-White game in April and the amount of certainty around the quarterback position remained the same - not very certain.

The overwhelming theme of this summer's Wolfpack camp, to no surprise, will be the quarterback position. Five contenders are vying for a spot that only one can have in a situation Coach Tom O'Brien says he's "never" been in.

"It's not the ideal situation, but it's where we are," O'Brien said. "But it's more important for us to make the right decision than to just make a decision."

One thing that should excite the five players battling for the starting position is that anyone can win that spot, and it's going to be done on the practice field, even if that means a true freshman (Mike Glennon) taking the role.

"I'm going to put the right guy under center for the first game of the year. It doesn't matter if he's a freshman or a senior," O'Brien said.

It should be a very interesting August for the Wolfpack football team as they look to find their field general for the opener at South Carolina.
