Spaceport, BLM near agreement on road off I-25

LAS CRUCES, N.M. — Officials say construction could begin in April on a road from Interstate 25 to New Mexico's Spaceport America.
The Las Cruces Sun-News reports (http://bit.ly/2ckqsTX ) that the New Mexico Spaceport Authority Board of Directors voted Friday to allow the chair to sign an agreement with the Bureau of Land Management. The vote is the first step toward finalizing a plan to construct the road from the Upham exit off I-25.
Work can't begin until the BLM and the Spaceport Authority sign off on the Memorandum of Agreement. The construction is expected to last about a year.
There is currently a dirt road leading from the highway to the Spaceport.
