My heart goes out to this family. How horrible it must feel to lose a child. Kids can be quick no matter how much you watch them and accidents do happen. There is a difference in people that let their kids ride on busy roads when they shouldn't be and looking away for a split second and something like this happens.

MY CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS. MAY GOD/JESUS GIVE ALL OF YOU COMFORT EACH AND EVERY DAY. KEEP HIS MEMORIES FOR THEY ARE PRECIOUS AND WILL BRING YOU LAUGHTER, JOY AND YES A TEAR. CONTINUE TO HOLD ON TO GOD'S UNCHANGING HANDS AND HE WILL SEE YOU THROUGHT THIS DIFFICULT TIME. REMEMBER THE SUN IS SHINNING ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CLOUDS. LOVE TO ALL OF YOU.

Young children's attention span is a matter of seconds. They tune out what they don't want to hear. It IS up to the parents to safeguard your children. They are a responsibility, and no matter how busy you think you are, the kids always come first. And, don't forget we're in a spiritual war with evil. Satan got his kicks killing that little boy in front of a church; and the parents have to be wondering where God was when their little boy was in the road. Guilt is a powerful tool for making us impotent.

This article isn't telling the details of the story. Read the sad story on www.thepilot.com. And please....don't judge. Mistakes are made and people are suffering.

@mlaureano203 --> who made you judge...not everyone is irresponsible when it comes to their kids...STUFF happens, very sad and very poor comments from you....this could have nothing to do with neglect of their children... .as LIVEITUP said, you never know...hopefully nothing ever like that happens to someone who thinks they are always looking and protecting their child...it would be gut wrenching for that person

It is so easy to speculate the circumstances around this childs death. I am over the top protective of my children, but when my son was 18 months old, I thought my husband had him, he thought I had him, and a car stopped as they saw him wondering to the road infront of my house. I cryed for the rest of the day at "what could have happened". A split second is all it takes.

I agree with obx. There are just too many parents out there who are extremely irresponsible. Just a few days ago I was pulling out of my complex parking lot and a little kid had to be about 6 or 7, rode his bike and darted right in front of my car. I called him over to me and told him to please be careful, i could have hit him! I have seen to many children outside riding their bikes, running around, etc. and their parents are nowhere to be seen. Then they wonder why their burying their babies... parents need to have more control of their kids. End of story.

I guess the devil is in the details but one cannot raise a relatively adventurous child by hovering over them continuously. Our neighbor "found" my 3-yo son down by the community bridge some years ago and "returned" him to us. Don't be so quick to judge.

Even the most vigilant parent can not stop a child from runnig off when they feel they are in a safe place. Unfortunately this child ran infront of a car. May god grant the family peace and consolation in this trying time.

Oh man, this is awful. I'm so sorry for the family. Kids are so quick, and you simply cannot velcro them to your side. My heartfelt sympathies to those who are feeling the loss of this little boy.
