Southeastern Regional Medical Center says its beds are full

Posted January 10

— Officials at Southeastern Regional Medical Center are telling people in need of non-emergency care to head to their doctor or visit a local clinic because all of its beds are taken.

Local media outlets report the Lumberton hospital, whose website says it has 452 beds, also says in a statement that patients seeking admission face delays due to a variety of illnesses.

Southeastern is also implementing visitor restrictions to prevent the spread of illness. Only one visitor age 12 or older is allowed per patient. Clergy with badges issued by the hospital are permitted, and the hospital says exceptions will be made in extreme medical circumstances.

The hospital says any visitor with a cough must wear a mask, which is available at the information desk in the bed tower lobby.
