SE Regional Library reopens May 21
Southeast Regional Library in Garner will reopen Saturday after a closing seven months ago for a renovation project.

The library closed in October and has been refurbished with carpet, paint, new furnishings and shelving and an updated floor plan, according to Wake County Libraries. The work was part of the 2007 Wake County Capital Improvement Plan.

To mark the reopening, the library will host some special events starting at 10 a.m., Saturday. They include a storytime at 10:30 a.m. At 2:30 p.m., there will be a presentation, titled "Reading is Magic: Inflate your Mind," by Clark Sides from Capital Balloon Studios.

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., teens can learn about the Teen Leadership Corp program. Adults can learn about personalized library services, including job search assistance, selecting books for book clubs, downloading library books to phones and devices, and using library resources for research.

The library will be open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday; and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday.

It's been a big couple of months for the library system. Wake County recently opened another new regional library on the other side of the county. Northeast Regional Library in Raleigh opened in April.
