This truck was being driven by a husband and wife driving team from Pennsylvania. The wife had driven until 5am and was asleep in the sleeper when her husband may have dozed off and overturned. They were very fortunate, though. The right front wheel lugnuts left marks in the guardrail nearly the full length of the Neuse River bridge located right behind the crash site. And, the truck stopped short of a pond of water located at the bottom of the embankment. so they could have easily ended up in a pond or river--but, they did not. The driver told me that he'd driven over 20 years and this was his first accident. It was a major inconvenience for southbound travelers but could have been far worse for the truck drivers involved in the accident..
