Princeton, N.C. — A man has been charged with murder in the death of his father following a shooting that occurred at a home in Johnston County on Saturday.
Around 9 p.m., deputies with the Johnston County Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting at 3806 U.S. Highway 70 Alternate in Princeton.
At the scene, they discovered that a 68-year-old man, James Russell Lee, had been fatally shot.
After an investigation, officials arrested 37-year-old Evan Thomas Lee, the victim's son, and charged him with murder in the death of his father.
A neighbor told WRAL News that the family has lived in the home where the shooting occurred for about 25 years. He said he believed the father and son got along well prior to the incident and that James Lee had another son as well.
No additional information has been released. The shooting appears to be the result of a domestic dispute, officials said.
