If your child brought home way too much Halloween loot, here's one way to get rid of it and help our military in the process.

Some local dentists and orthodontics offices are participating in a national effort to collect candy to send to troops who are serving overseas.

Check the Halloween Candy Buy Back program's website for more information. The site includes a spot where you can type in your zip code and search for local offices that are participating in the program.

Before you go to drop off your candy, be sure to call the office to make sure that they are participating this year. In past years, I've checked and found that the list was a little outdated. Also, some offices will just be collecting candy on a specific date, so check to make sure you know when to drop it all off.
