Soldier on motorcycle injured in Fayetteville hit-and-run

print friendly

An active duty soldier riding a motorcycle was injured early Tuesday after being hit by a car in the 8400 block of Cliffdale Road, Fayetteville police said.

Officers responding to the area about 3 a.m. found the man with non-life-threatening injuries. The soldier's name has not been released, but police said he was taken to Womack Hospital to be checked out.

The motorcycle was totaled.

The hit-and-run happened shortly after a shooting in the 4200 block of Bragg Boulevard that left another man who was riding a motorcycle dead. Police said the two cases may be related.

The soldier told police he noticed that a car was following him before it hit him and drove away. Police said the car was described as a white or silver four-door sedan.

Anyone with information about the hit-and-run or the shooting should call the Fayetteville Police Department.

Seems like there are a lot more accidents/deaths/break ins, etc. in Fayetteville area these days. Every day they are in the news for something not so good happening.

I don't know if WRAL will let me call them by their name, but the Fayetteville Obersver states that both riders were members of 'that unmentionable place' Angels motorcycle gang. I'm still in a state of shock. I have'nt heard the words "Fayetteville" and 'that unmentionable place' Angels in the same sentence in thirty years, and I'm 35!

What in the world is happening to my hometown? Its stuff like this is why I don't go out no more.
