Soldier found dead in car on Fort Bragg

— The body of a soldier discovered dead on Fort Bragg over the weekend was found in a car in a parking lot.

The Army's Criminal Investigation Command is investigating the death of Pfc. Luke J. Brown, 27, of Fredericksburg, Va.

Brown's body was found off Bastogne Drive on post at about 3:50 a.m. Sunday. His body has been sent to a military medical examiner for an autopsy.

Brown was an intelligence analyst assigned to Headquarters Company. He had been a member of the 82nd Airborne Division since January and had joined the Army a year earlier.

    Definitely a lot of unanswered questions, but that's what you get when someone dies within the military's jurisdiction. Don't expect too many details on this.

    I have some sneaking suspicions, but that's all they are.

    Anything that happens in Fayetteville interests me, but often the information that we get from WRAL is just enough to whet the appetite and the information that we get causes more of a mystery than it is worth.

    Fayetteville citizens need more information especially when it concerns the soldiers at Fort Bragg. At least that is the way that I feel.
