Posted August 18, 2008

— A female Fort Bragg soldier died while home on leave from a deployment to Iraq.

Sgt. Kendale Carney, 28, was found dead at her mother's home in Hamlet on Saturday, police said. Carney's mother was present when she died.

Police said they do not suspect foul play.

Carney was assigned to the 503rd Maintenance Company, 7th Transportation Battalion, 507th Corps Support Group. She had previously served in the Iraq war.

A memorial service for Carney will be held on Fort Bragg at a date to be determined.

Where does it say natural causes? "Police said they do not suspect foul play." Maybe she took her own life??

Natural causes? Yet she was deemed healthy enough to serve in Iraq recently?
Terribly sad but WRAL why do you bother with half-stories like this? She is a local woman, how about some due diligence here...

Natural causes for a 28-year old???

    What a shame!

Praying for her loved ones and comrades.
