Soldier dies while on leave from Iraq
A female Fort Bragg soldier died while home on leave from a deployment to Iraq.

HAMLET, N.C. — A female Fort Bragg soldier died while home on leave from a deployment to Iraq.
Sgt. Kendale Carney, 28, was found dead at her mother's home in Hamlet on Saturday, police said. Carney's mother was present when she died.
Police said they do not suspect foul play.
Carney was assigned to the 503rd Maintenance Company, 7th Transportation Battalion, 507th Corps Support Group. She had previously served in the Iraq war.
A memorial service for Carney will be held on Fort Bragg at a date to be determined.
