Smithfield man charged in 2015 slaying

Smithfield, N.C. — A Smithfield man was arrested early Thursday in the 2015 shooting death of a Princeton man, police said.
Dontrell Khali McDonald, 24, was charged with murder in the death of Adolphus Ramon Bryant and was being held without bond in the Johnston County jail.
Bryant, 45, was found shot behind a building in the 800 block of Second Avenue in Smithfield on Sept. 21, 2015. He died at a nearby hospital.
No details were released as to a possible motive for the crime or any connection between the two men.
McDonald is the second person charged in Bryant's death.
Tina Louise Byrd, 37, was charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon a few weeks after Bryant was killed.
