Posted January 13, 2015

— The post-race concert for this year's Rock 'n' Roll Marathon and Half Marathon will feature an "All-Star" headliner. Pop-rock band Smash Mouth will play the Finish Line Festival at Red Hat Amphitheater after the Sunday, April 12, race.

More than 12,000 runners are expected to hit the streets of downtown Raleigh for the race. Spots are still available for the race.

The post-race concert is open to the public.

Smash Mouth is known for its hits including "All-Star," "Walkin' on the Sun," "Then the Morning Comes" and a remake of "I'm a Believer." The band is also expected to perform songs from its latest album, Magic.

The race is seeking live, local bands of all genres to perform throughout the race course.

Cheer and dance teams are also invited to compete in the "Spirit on the Course" competition for a chance to win up to $750 for your squad!

After all the Ray Rice outrage last year, the marathon goes out and hires a headliner that had one of it's members convicted of brutally beating his wife on video?

smash mouth? you'd think with the deaths that they had last year, we'd suffered enough.

Come on, guys. Lighten up. It's a foot race, not a concert. The music is the theme or whatever but it's not like they can hire Taylor Swift. A. They couldn't afford her. B. The race would be irrelevant
