Haphazard development can lead to a patchwork of industral, residential, commercial, and other uses of land, along with confusing street layouts and inefficient public works. More communities are starting to realize that planning development carefully before the first shovel hits the ground is a wise decision for the long term, and in Denver, residents are starting to discuss ways to develop the Eastern side of the county responsibly and intelligently.
The less inhabited area of the county provides a great deal of room for growth, but that also presents challenges for Denver contractors and architectural firms. If developers don't think smart, the resulting development might not be ecologically friendly or sound for residents -- issues like walkability, ease of commute, traffic abatement, and safety all need to be considered in a comprehensive development plan.
