I hope you people are kidding. If not, you need to ask yourself where all your hate and intolerance is coming from.

You know, I'm pretty sure that skating in all its forms is prohibited in Cameron Village. He may have been on the street when he was hit, but I'm betting that he was boarding in the parking lots -- at 9:30 pm -- wearing dark clothing. DUH!! I hope the motorist sues him, or more likely his Mommy and Daddy for the damage to his car! Last week I saw a kid on a board hanging onto a small truck going down Hillsborough St. at about 30 mph. He sure looked like he was having big fun.
Oh well, Back To His Future...

LONE VOICE IN THE WILDERNESS, THIS WAS NOT A PEDESTRIAN WALKING, IT WAS A SKATEBOARDER, THERE IS A DIFFERENCE, CALLED SPEED......

THIS IS WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU SKATEBOARD WHERE YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSE TO BE.

Skateboarding is one of the most dangerous things around... these kids are in public roads and parking lots and seriously? After dark is NOT the time to be on an unpredictable, difficult-to-see VEHICLE in the middle of traffic. I hope other skaters in the area will take heed and GET OFF THE PUBLIC THOROUGHFARES!

I live in Cameron Village, and people drive waaaay too fast down Clark Avenue. Drivers don't yield to pedestrians in crosswalks, the stop light on Oberlin between the McDonald's and Clark, which is there solely for allowing pedestrians to cross, is routinely disregarded.

As a person who lives, drives, and runs in my neighborhood, I personally think drivers need to pay more attention. You live next to the largest campus in North Carolina. Slow down, be careful, and always assume a college kid is going to walk out in front of you.

Drivers also need to learn how to yield to pedestrians at crosswalks.

he should have been at home studying or at work.

Sorry, but public roads are NOT the place for skateboarders. This area around Cameron Village is usually very busy. These kids need to use better sense and if they are not mature enough to do so, their parents need to step in. Public roads are for motor vehicles!
