Some good news for moms of skaters and BMXers today:

SK8-Cary, which has been closed so crews make make repairs after recent storm damage, will be open this weekend and Monday and Tuesday when Wake County schools are closed, according to a Cary press release.

The park will offer free skate and bike sessions from Saturday to Tuesday. Hours will be noon to 10 p.m. and follow the park's usual schedule. Concessions will be available, but staff will not be able to accept future program registrations, hold private lessons or schedule feature private lessons during this time.

SK8-Cary should reopen with its regular operating schedule by the end of February.

Check the park's website for more information.
