MORRISVILLE, N.C. — A Morrisville man committed an armed robbery on New Year's Day to steal a man's wallet and his six-pack of Bud Light, according to arrest warrants.

Christopher James Cobb, 19, of 821 Claret Court, faces one charge of robbery with a dangerous weapon. He was being held in the Wake County Jail Saturday under a $300,000 secured bond.

The arrest warrant says that Cobb carried a black handgun and threatened a man's life. Cobb stole a wallet with $175 cash in it, along with the beer, according to the warrant.

Cobb's first court date is set for Monday.

Cobb was placed on probation in August after being convicted of resisting an officer, according to state Department of Correction records. He also has convictions for public drunkenness, underage drinking and possession of stolen goods.
