WRAL WeatherCenter Blog : I am a 7th grader at West Lee Middle School in Sanford NC. I have a science project that I am working on. Part of the assignment is to write a letter to a local meteorologist and ask the following questions: What does a meteorologist do?
WRAL WeatherCenter Blog : As I understand it, a lunar eclipse and the normal phases of the moon are both a result of the earth's shadow on the moon. Since a lunar eclipse obviously occurs more quickly, what is happening that causes the difference between these two events?
WRAL WeatherCenter Blog : I noticed during the last outbreak of severe weather that Greg was having a hard time distinquishing the tornadic areas around the radar site, specifically in the Clayton area. We depend on WRAL weather for all of our forecasts and severe weather reports, but I am concerned that the new radar system has obvious shortcomings being able to see into the storm. When Greg has to switch to the Morehead City radar to see the weather in Clayton, it raises questions about the validity of the system. You guys are the best and I depend on your weather reports daily.
WRAL WeatherCenter Blog : My daughter needs to know the temperature and winds at 8pm the last four nights. She didn't realize that she was supposed to be collecting data over the weekend nights and we were out of the house at 8pm last night, so she missed making those observations. Is there a place where I can find that? I saw the place that shows the 30 day....but that only shows the highs and lows for each day.
WRAL WeatherCenter Blog : I live in Red Oak NC and have a 3 season garden.Temp and rainfall is very important.I have notice that this area is a few degrees cooler than the rest of the area.It seems that if you predict temps of 35 to 38 degrees.we will surely get a frost. Can frost form at temps higher than 32 degrees?
