— Investigators in Hoke County are looking into a fire that broke out Friday at the same location of an alleged rape.

Authorities said the abandoned house was the place where an Embarq employee claims she was raped last week while she was going work.

Grady Cunningham is charged in the rape case. He is behind bars on $50,000 bond.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Investigators do not know if the two cases are related.

Good way to get rid of the DNA evidence. Something smells fishy in Denmark.

"A way to get rid of evidence not yet collected by the police?"

I was thinking more along the lines of a nuisance removed by the neighbors, but it could be that too.
