— A sinkhole opened up a gap of about three feet across Wednesday afternoon along a busy east Raleigh commuter route.

Poole Road was closed just north of the intersection with Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard right after 5 p.m.

Utility crews will be working to fix the sinkhole Thursday, but authorities said traffic will continue to be impacted through the morning commute.

Ok, let's be clear. This is NOT a sinkhole, this is a collapsed drainage pipe, made out of concrete which appears to have created a nuisance. Sink holes are much larger, form where limestone is underminded by water, etc... Let's get the FACTS straight!

Seeing its in front and near a storm sewer its probably related to pipe failure. Wonder why the road and sidewalk are marked already with sewer/drain and communication cable/conduit colors?
