Spring Lake, N.C. — Spring Lake police were searching early Tuesday for a 59-year-old man who is believed to be cognitively impaired.
The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert for Howard Douglas Pearce about 2:45 a.m. after he went missing from a home in the 100 block of Rainbow Court.
Pearce is black, stands about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 300 pounds. He is bald and has brown eyes.
When he went missing, Pearce was believed to be wearing a navy blue zip hoodie and grey sweatpants, police said. It wasn't clear where he could be headed.
Anyone with information on Pearce's whereabouts should call the Spring Lake Police Department at 910-436-0350.
