ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert Sunday for a Rocky Mount man.

Lamar Rodney Gaddet, 40, is black, stands 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs approximately 145 pounds. He has short black hair and brown eyes and was last seen on Atlantic Avenue wearing a white T-shirt, white and brown shorts and brown Timberland boots.

Anyone with information about Gaddet should call the Rocky Mount Police Department at 252-972-1411 or 911.

Developed in 2007, Silver Alert is a system to quickly notify the public about missing endangered people who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.

It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.
