RALEIGH, N.C. — A Silver Alert was issued early Friday for a missing 20-year-old Raleigh man who is believed to have a cognitive impairment.

Dennis Braxton "Radu" Alexander was last seen at 2907 Fairway Drive, police said. It's unknown where he might have headed.

Alexander is described as a white man, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 130 pounds. He has green eyes, short blond hair and a goatee. He wears glasses.

A picture of Alexander was not available.

Anyone with information on Alexander's whereabouts should call Raleigh police at 919-996-1558.

Developed in 2007, Silver Alert is a system to quickly notify the public about missing endangered adults who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.

It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.
