KENLY, N.C. — The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert Saturday for a missing Kinston man.

Miller Jones, who is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment, was last seen at 411 Manning St.

The 62-year-old black man is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. He has gray hair and brown eyes.

Jones was wearing a tan ball cap, gray jacket, white sweater, blue jeans or khaki pants and black boots.

Anyone with information about Jones' whereabouts should call Commander Jenee Eubanks at the Kinston Police Department Public Safety at 252-559-6118.

Developed in 2007, Silver Alert is a system that quickly notifies the public about missing endangered adults who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.

It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.
