Silver Alert issued for missing ECSU student

The Elizabeth City State University Police Department was searching for a missing 22-year-old student Saturday who may be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. — The Elizabeth City State University Police Department was searching for a missing 22-year-old student Saturday who may be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment. 

The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert for Terry Mike Leathers II at about 10:45 p.m. Friday. 

Leathers was last seen in the 1700 block of Weeksville Road on the Elizabeth City State campus. It wasn't clear where he may have been headed. 

Leathers is black, stands about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 130 pounds. He has short black hair and brown eyes, and he was wearing a dark blue and black shirt and light-colored jeans when he went missing. 

Anyone with information about his whereabouts should call the Elizabeth City State University Police Department at 252-335-3266.
