Durham police cancel Silver Alert for Hickory man

The Durham Police Department on Friday morning canceled a Silver Alert for an 80-year-old man who was reported missing Thursday.

DURHAM, N.C.UPDATE: 6 a.m.: The Durham Police Department on Friday morning canceled a Silver Alert for an 80-year-old man who was reported missing Thursday.

Kent Eugene Cooper was found, according to the North Carolina Center for Missing Persons.

The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons has issued a Silver Alert for a missing endangered man, Kent Eugene Cooper.

Citizens are asked to be on the lookout for Kent Eugene Cooper, who is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.

Cooper is described as an 80-year-old white male with blue eyes and short gray hair. He stands six feet tall and weights 180 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a dark blue checkered shirt, blue jeans and sneakers.

He was last seen in Hickory driving a gray Mazda, but officers believe he is heading towards Durham.
