Enfield, N.C. — The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert Tuesday for a missing Halifax County woman.
Lizzie M. Wilson, 70, disappeared from Woodhaven Rest Home at 311 E. Bryant St. in Enfield.
She is black, 5 feet 1 inch tall, weighs 198 pounds and has black and gray medium length hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a light blue shirt, blue jeans and flip flops.
Anyone with information about Wilson should call Sgt. R. Vaughan at the Enfield Police Department at 252-445-5122.
Developed in 2007, Silver Alert is a system to quickly notify the public about missing endangered adults who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.
It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.
