Silver Alert issued for Franklin County teen

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office is searching for 18-year-old Demario Dontre Johnson, who is believed to cognitively impaired.

YOUNGSVILLE, N.C. — The Franklin County Sheriff's Office is searching for 18-year-old Demario Dontre Johnson, who is believed to cognitively impaired.

Johnson was last seen at 115 Rice Drive in Youngsville, walking toward a school bus stop nearby.

The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert for Johnson shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday.

He is black and has short, black hair, brown eyes and a tattoo on his right arm that says, "In God We Trust," authorities said. He stands 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 250 pounds.

Johnson was last seen wearing a blue and red plaid sweater with a gray hood, a dark blue T-shirt, light blue jeans and white shoes.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the sheriff's office at 919-496-2511.
