LOUISBURG, N.C. — A Silver Alert was issued Monday for a 15-year-old Franklin County girl who is believed to be cognitively impaired, according to the N.C. Center for Missing Persons.

Naisha Monae Bowser was last seen at 2970 N.C. Highway 56 in East Louisburg. She is black, with black hair and brown eyes, 5 feet 2 inches tall and about 150 pounds.

She was last seen wearing pink pajama pants, black Nike tennis shoes, a gray hooded sweatshirt and a blue T-shirt.

Anyone with information on Bowser's whereabouts is asked to call the Franklin County Sheriff's Office at 919-496-2511.

Developed in 2007, Silver Alert is a system to quickly notify the public about missing endangered adults who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.

It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.
