Authorities were searching Monday for a 59-year-old Spring Lake man who is believed to be cognitively impaired.

<b>SPRING LAKE, N.C.</b> — Authorities were searching Monday for a 59-year-old Spring Lake man who is believed to be cognitively impaired.

Howard "Howie" Douglas Pearce was last seen at 116 Rainbow Court. The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert for him shortly before 3 p.m.

Pearce is black, 5 feet 6 inches tall and about 310 pounds. He is bald, has brown eyes and is believed to be wearing a navy blue zip-up hooded sweatshirt and gray sweatpants.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 910-436-0350.
