Silver Alert issued for Clayton man
The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert on Monday afternoon for a missing Clayton man.

Jerry Wayne Holiday, 60, is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment. He is also goes by the nickname Shorty.
Holiday is described as a black man, 5-foot-5 and 135 pounds. He has short, black hair and brown eyes.
Holiday was last seen at the Clayton House, an assisted living facility located at 145 Dairy Road. He was wearing gray or purple corduroy pants, a white shirt, brown slippers and a baseball cap.
Authorities said he was heading north toward Sunset Lane and Lakeview Drive.

Developed in 2007, Silver Alert is a system that quickly notifies the public about missing endangered adults who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.
It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.
