Update: Billy Van Stanley was found safe Thursday evening.

A Silver Alert was issued Wednesday evening for a Lee County man with Alzheimer’s disease.

Billy Van Stanley, 81, was last seen Wednesday afternoon at 5634 Quail Ridge Drive.

Stanley is described as being 5 feet, 10 inches tall with short gray hair and brown eyes.

He was wearing a white golf shirt, gray shorts, black tennis shoes, white socks, a gold wedding band and a gold.

Authorities believe he may have been heading north on U.S. Highway 1 in an attempt to return home.

He may be driving a gray 2013 Hyundai GLS with license plate number BMN 3700.
